Celebrities and comedians do not want to be role models. They would rather just think of themselves as funny people in front of the camera. While they may fit in perfectly in front of the camera, what about behind it?

What about when you are out on set with nothing to say but something needs to be said because there is a certain emotion needed on camera? Now you are asking these “comedians” to be serious, and they would rather not.

What about when it is time to talk about the subject of your character? You know what your character is feeling but the comedian does not. They do not want to listen or learn more about their characters emotions because they are not serious actors.

These comedians will play extremely important parts in movies but they want to be left alone while doing it. They do not want anyone telling them what their character is feeling. It may hurt the film or put it at risk of being a flop. What about when these comedians are up for an award and the presenter is asking them to say something serious about the movie they are in? They would rather just act like their usual goofy selves.

What I am thinking is, what will happen if comedians want to branch out and not be one-dimensional characters? Not all of them want to do that but some do. Comedians play great roles off camera because it is easy to just play yourself. They do not have to learn about how their characters feel and what their character would be like if they were in real life, but some comedians want to try new roles.

What is the future for these type of comedians? Will it be possible for them to create a different character that has depth? Can you put them into a serious role and expect them to get it right?
